The point of this section is to give a global overview of the most relevant body components, their interactions and the most common processes leading to work-related disorders. This increases body awareness: You not only need to feel your muscles, joints and movements, but you also need to know what happens bemeath the skin.
For the moment, we will only distinguish between spine, nerves and blood vessels, muscles, and joints. The focus is on the movements of the human body, therefore on the musculoskeletal system.
Disorders spread easily: Joint disorders affect muscles and conversely, muscle disorders affect nerves and blood vessels and conversely, etc.
Pain is not always felt where it originates. For example, pain around the eyebrow is likely to involve the sternocleidomastoid, one of the important neck anterior muscles.
Therefore, remember that when prevention has failed or partially failed and that pain arises, a rehabilitation specialist (e.g. a manual therapist) should be consulted before symptoms worsen. All efforts put in understanding the body mechanics will then serve a quick recovery.
